New Bunkbeds!

In the following post you'll read about recent developments, well this is it. New bunk beds for the boys. We were smoking crack, and decided to head to IKEA on a rainy holiday to buy new kitchen chairs to replace the ones that are 20+ years old and breaking in our kitchen. The roads were HORRIBLE, the store was wall to wall people, but we were very pleasantly surprised by a new bunk bed that fit our needs. The boys were and are more then excited about it. After braving another two hours of traffic home(it is usually a 45 minute ride), 007 got straight to work and set the beds up. While the mattresses don't arrive until Saturday, the futons make an OK fit until then. Hopefully in the next few days we'll be able to tie dye the fitted sheets, and I want to try out a silk screening technique to put airplanes on BK's fitted sheet. We'll probably need to do fish on Edamame's.

BK trying to encroach on Ed's top bunk space.

He asked big brother to 'dakko'(hold) him

Ed temporarily trying out the bottom bunk.

I think BK may need glow in the dark start stickers to put on the bars so he doesn't feel too left out for getting the bottom bunk for a few more years.

Oh, and in case you are wondering, we did find chairs, now I just need to make seat cushions for them. I'm so glad the fabric store sells vinyl, what a breeze that is to clean up!

Your boys are so cute! My kids are dying for bunk beds. We bought Bug a new mattress last week so he could get out of his toddler bed, but right now, its just on the floor, awaiting the purchase of the beds.

how awesome that the bed fits and the boys look like they love it. You'll have to take pics of the silk screening cause I'm very interested.
