Halloween costume

I've finished BK's costume. It's supposed to be a pteranodon and reversible to a bat. Any suggestions on how to:

1 - make it look more pteranodonesque?
2 - finish the bottom edge. I was going to stitch it together, but don't want to. Any cool way to keep it from fraying? A neat needle stitch or something? I don't feel like doing binding either...unless is is cool or something.

Ideas please!!

Don't worry Ed is getting one too, when he can pin down what he wants. I'll probably make his on October 28th.
