no Utah!

Quick update, I'll upload Easter pictures soon, but the big news is...

We didn't go to Utah this weekend! Why you ask, well BK had a double ear infection, Ed had just one ear infected and I had a nasty sinus infection. Plus Mahana has a cold. Fortunately with a doctors note, we won't loose money, and we'll likely go this summer instead.

Everyone is on the mend. Ed is doing great, and will head to school tomorrow. BK is no longer running a fever of 103 all day long, or at all for that matter, and I am not going through a box of kleenex a day anymore.

Once again I am so thankful for modern medicine and especially my good friend Amoxicillan.

Laughing

This was too awesome not to share. She was a little slap happy at this point(rolled over when she was supposed to be falling asleep).

Catharsis bonnet

I'm not enjoying kindergarden. Ed is exhausted by the end of the day, BK is lonely, frustrated and acting out, and it's throwing Mahana off of any semblance of a nap schedule. Plus they didn't let the kids play outside until they gave the tour today(day three). I understand why, and it's good reasoning, but I feel bad for Ed because it's what he has been wanting to do every day. I didn't know, so I told him to go play, and then the teachers told him not to. My fault, poor kid. So since we are all stressed, the boys went to bed early, and I sewed something. Projects make me feel better. Mahana needed a bonnet, viola!

And it isn't all that bad. Ed is more energetic once he gets home, is making friends and hearing lots of Japanese.

Younger sibling time

During conference weekend BK decided he wanted to hold Princess Mahana. He wanted to keep her tight for quite some time. They are both enjoying making faces and holding her. Hopefully this will help him not feel so sad and lonely during the school day.

More first day pictures

Daddy took some very good pictures of the first day.

To answer Kim's question, the school year starts in April and while not year round, looks a lot more like it than not. We have a week of holidays in May, 6 weeks off in July/August, 2 weeks in December and 2 weeks before the new school year starts in April. The curriculum seems a lot more focused on citizenship, personal interaction, sharing, helping one another, listening to directions, etc. I'll let you guys know what he ends up learning. Today he took a tour of the school, and tomorrow he is taking a tour of the outside.

Ed is a little bored and overwhelmed at this point. He is in zone out mode.

Walking train style to keep everyone in order to take pictures.

Finally getting to play on the playground.

What is a first day of school without a cake to celebrate!

I wanna go too!

BK really wants to go to school too. He wore Ed's backpack all around the house this evening. Hope he isn't too lonely without someone to fight with during the day.

First Day of school!

Ed Had his first day of school today. He's been talking about it for weeks, and would tell me how many days left for the last week. We took lots more pictures, but I'm too exhausted to load them. He didn't cry, but he kind of did his "I'm overloaded with too many people" zone out pretty quick. Lots of parents, pictures and new stuff, and all he wanted to do was have playground time. He and BK got some good slide time at the end. I'll keep you posted on how the first normal day, Monday, goes.

In addition we are just playing, having fun,

Any good and tasteful Easter decoration ideas??? PLEASE help!

Also passport update, nothing on the US front. I'm turning her Japanese one in tomorrow if we still don't have it...ugh!
