Nafukin
Edamame is in Kindergarden from 9am to 2 pm. As you expect, no kid can be expected to go that long without eating, so he gets to eat lunch there. Three days a week it is school lunch, two days you are allowed to bring lunch from home, but five days a week you need to bring your lunch set. This consists of a cup, a fork, a spoon, chopsticks(usually all three in a box set together), and a napkin for a mini tablecloth. They say nafukin(ナフキン) because napkin(ナプキン) is the sanitary napkin kind. Go figure, I like the distinction. Well, I being cheap and having delusions of creativity have started making him some napkins. I made two of the above ones tonight. I think I'll try to have two or three for each major season or holiday. That does mean I'll have to pick up some Thanksgiving and Easter fabric though. Hmm. They are super easy and it makes him smile. So yeah, I just wanted to be a show off, thanks for humoring me.

Self portrait
I taught Edamame how to take an iPhone self portrait. Notice the position of his tongue, which clearly indicates he is MY offspring.
Boys room
Ed has recently commandeered the playroom as his bedroom. He is growing up, and I miss him a bit at night. He always wants BK to sleep with him though, and BK won't sleep without a parent yet, so at least daddy gets some extra snuggles. In our room, after Mahana wakes up at night I usually make a girl slumber party too.

MIA
Sorry I've been MIA for a while. I will continue to be so for the foreseeable future. Why, you may ask. Here is one reason.
Someone is crawling, pulling herself up and eating anything electrical, paper or plastic she can get her hands on. I've taken quite a few plastic bags and older sibling works' of art out of her mouth. At least she sleeps great at night, and has a set nap schedule. I'm still not eating eggs or milk because of her. That makes cooking a bit rougher, but who doesn't like a nifty challenge?
Here are reasons number two and three.
Yep, they took turns taping each other sliding down. If only they knew how to hit record. I did it for them once.
They are crazy. Not to mention the fights, hitting, and ignoring me. Oh, and Ed is allergic to dust mites and house dust, which makes for a lot of cleaning fun. At least BK was a breeze to potty train! Woo hoo!
Please excuse the lack of posting...I'll catch ya all soon. Maybe when my house temps drop below 90. Hehehe. Probably when Ed starts school again in September.
