I'm procrastinating again...
So here's what I've been up to.
I made a sponge cake to practice before I taught my friend how to make one. I learned the hard way to always try it yourself first before you teach. It turned out good. I'm now a huge fan of sponge cake. It's a smart Christmas Eve tradition the Japanese have. Of course, being the glutton for punishment that I am, will try to make an authentic German Stollen for Christmas. I've had to candy my own orange peel already...yeek!

Oh and also I'm squandering my time looking at old pictures. Can you guess who these lovely ladies are ?

...and I just felt prettier then.

Now to try keep making quilt squares.

Sure thing Oedipus
Ed: I'm going to marry a boyboyboy boy!
Mom: What? Did you say you were going to marry a boy?
Ed: Hehehe, yeah. I was just being silly.
Mom: Phew, cause that's weird(Hey, I don't know how to be PC on the fly sometimes, shoot me!)
Ed: Yeah, I'm not going to marry a boy. I'm going to marry Obaachan!

Questions
As a mother of a very inquisitive three year old I am bombarded with
questions. Often they are repeats, and lately dealing with the movie
Cars, bit not always. The questions I'm most pleased with today were
questions. Often they are repeats, and lately dealing with the movie
Cars, bit not always. The questions I'm most pleased with today were
"Why is lightning mcqueen a boy?"
"why are all the racecars boys?"
"Are marsupials mammals?"
Equal opportunity and scientific. Ok, now I'm done bragging. I'll try
to share the craziest ones tomorrow so that I'll balance life out.

Zoo trip
Last time we went to the zoo was November of '08, so it was high time to go again. This time we went with our good friends from up the street. Whenever I would pull out the camera, Edamame would run away, but I was able to get a few pictures...mostly playing after we had seen the animals.

...and then the playing starts

whose eyes do you see?

BK had a blast too

...and we even got a picture with Great Grandpa *wink* *wink*

PAM!! STOP READING THIS POST NOW! Everyone else is OK
So I can't wait, I'm so stoked that I finally finished the Christmas presents for the girls and boy. Technically Pam could read it, since her present won't be posted (I can't fit it in a picture), but if she still wants the surprise, then she'd better wait.
This is why blogging slacked off precipitously...that and sleep issues.
The Little General deserves a warm noggin....and while I'm sure he already has a hat...a fleece one would make him warm and look like an animal at the same time. I say it's a puppy, but it is somewhat ambiguous.

Andirella is quickly growing out of her dress, and so a new one has been put together. I tried to get Edamame to try it on to see if it would fit, but he'd have nothing to do with it. Finally! He doesn't want to wear a dress....phew!

Miss T is a big fan of Master Tigress, so I made her a costume. It took a lot of thinking. 007's aunt sent me pattern measurements for a Japanese Jinbei and then I modified it to work the way I wanted to.

Ok, so this makes me feel much better after yesterday. Onto my first quilt for my son. EEK!
