Annual Sacrilege

The MEN decorated most of our tree this year. Way better than bonding in a sweat house(and a lot less smelly).

Yes, I know we horrify many people by decorating before Thanksgiving, but hey we like people to be able to enjoy the tree while they enter a tryptophan induced coma. Besides, Thanksgiving isn't a real holiday over here, then again neither is Christmas.

Hodge Podge

I've been a blogging slacker lately. For good reason, I'm furiously sewing Christmas presents in my spare moments, which are becoming fewer and further in between. I only have Tenna's left to do, and then I can work on the monstrosity that is Edamame's quilt. Now you know my excuses, it isn't because I don't have love to share, but because I have a life to live(oh and BK and I both had sinus infections along the way too...JOY!). Here are a few cute pictures and things I wanted to share

I love the way Edamame looks in this. He HAD to have a Christmas tie on. What a funny kid.

BK just looks so happy here. Hopefully his eye teeth will finish cutting soon and I can get a picture of those(and a little more sleep at night)

Oh and 'cause I'm a looser who didn't take Halloween pictures, Edamame in his costume. In all fairness our Trick or Treat day with our neighbor(a friend up the street who has two boys too, we just criss crossed houses) was the day that I was in the WORST pain EVER from my sinus infection. If I get pictures from her I'll post them.

I stumbled on this lovely creation making sweet potato fries, which incidentally taste a thousand times better than real fries. Tempura Banana...the same kind that Benihana make....mmmmmm.

Now I need to either start sewing again or snuggle with the hubby. I think I'll choose snuggling, it's hovering around 53 degrees in the house now, it sounds much warmer than sewing.

Post again when I can, probably post Thanksgiving. Ours is on November 23rd!

Going for a Run!

We got our new stroller about three weeks ago. It is GREAT! I've been able to do three runs with it, and Edamame falls asleep in it super fast. BK on the other hand doesn't tend to sleep in it, but he's growing accustomed to it quite quickly. The best part of the whole thing is the box(Pirate Ship) that came along with it. BK can climb in and out of it all by himself, and does so on a regular basis. He is definitely a little bruiser, climbing up and down the slide, boxes, and anything else that gets in his way.

A Pillaging we'll go!

There is this cool park about 20 min (by car) from our house that we've passed a handful of times. We finally got a chance to go and explore. It was a TON of fun! Why? It has a PIRATE ship!

Edamame definitely had a lot of love for this cannon. Obviously not a lot of love for the people he was trying to shoot.

Even BK got to go on the big slide. It was a LOT of fun! We all thought it was a great slide.

CornFest

I was washing dishes today when Edamame spilled canned corn all over the floor. Instead of being a good mom and cleaning it up right away, I let that boys go to town eating and playing it it. Just like Woodstock baby!

Corn is definitely a favorite in these parts!

Slipper close up

Ok, so I sent a second picture to go with this, but here is the story.

Our house is flipping cold in the winter. How cold is it you ask? So cold that Edamame walks around on his tiptoes because he doesn't want to put his feet down. After an unsuccessful day of searching for children's slippers(HOW?!?! No one is allowed to wear shoes inside, how can this country not have decent children's slippers?) I was resigned to buy them from the Children's Place. Then lo and behold what I stumbled upon while reading someone's blog? A baby shoe pattern. I sized it WAY up for Edamame, and this is the end result. Not great, but not bad for a first time. I had to put the seams on the outside so that it wouldn't bother his feet while he was walking, which isn't a problem for wee babes.

Here is a closer picture of the slippers.

He was super excited, and wore them all day after I finished. Hopefully his totsies will stay warmer this winter. Now what do I do to keep him from slipping though? Any thoughts(no, tape isn't an option).
